2009: Erik Höckerdal defends his licentiate thesis in January. Maria Ivarsson defends her licentiate thesis in April. Per Öberg and Johan Wahlström defend their PhD theses, and Carl Svärd defends his licentiate thesis in June. Anna Pernestål defends her PhD thesis in December.
2008: The LNF engine turbosystem is changed from a twin scroll single stage setup, to a twostage system. Development of a RapidPro/MicroAutoBox-control system for the SVC engine is started. Anders Fröberg defends his PhD thesis in May.
2007: The LNF engine is installed in the engine laboratory. The control system is also changed into a RapidPro/MicroAutoBox-combination from dSPACE. Jonas Biteus defends his PhD thesis in May. Erik Hellström defends his licentiate thesis in June. Ylva Nilsson defends her PhD thesis in September. Markus Klein defends his PhD thesis in November.
2005: Per Andersson defends his PhD thesis.
2004: In May Marcus Klein defended his licentiate thesis. Gunnar Cedersund defended Vehicular systems tenth licentiate thesis in June.
2003: In October Mattias Krysander defended his licentiate thesis.
2002: Two licentiate theses are defended by Ingemar Andersson and Per Andersson.
2001: In November the fourth PhD thesis is defended by Erik Frisk. In December Tony Sandberg defended his licentiate thesis.
2000: The SAAB SVC engine is installed in the engine laboratory.
1999: In May, the second doctoral thesis is defended by Lars Eriksson. In June, the third doctoral thesis is defended by Mattias Nyberg.
1998: A second dynamometer is installed in the laboratory. One licentiate thesis is presented by Erik Frisk.
1997: Two more licentiate theses are presented by Lars Eriksson and Mattias Nyberg. In May, the first doctoral thesis is defended by Magnus Pettersson.
1996: The first licentiate thesis is presented in May by Magnus Pettersson. A second engine is installed in the laboratory.
1995: The first results from the research laboratory are accepted as an SAE paper.
1994: Our engine research laboratory is built and an engine is running in it for the first time in August. The first research project in the test cell about ionization currents is started in the fall.
1992: Lars Nielsen starts working in Linköping. The two first graduate students are accepted to the division in the late fall.
1991: Lars Nielsen is appointed to the endowed chair Sten Gustafsson Professor of Vehicular Systems.
