PhD Program

Please, answer YES to these questions:

  • Do you want society to utilize energy sources efficiently?
  • Do you want to decrease environmental impact?
  • Do you want to increase safety?
  • Do you want to work with advanced technology development and methodological research?
  • Do you want to have a high class graduate project?

Yes, of course you do! Engineers, with a deep understanding, that make an effort and really push the limits of knowledge are key contributors. Of course, you want to be one of them. Here is how to contact us and apply for a graduate position.

Graduate Exams

Graduate exams (Licentiate and Doctor) consist mainly of two parts described below: Graduate research leading to a thesis and Graduate courses. More information on course requirements can be found here (currently in Swedish).

Graduate Research

You will have the choice to work either on general development of theory and methods, or to work problem oriented focusing on problems where the choice of method is an open question. Previous graduate students have combined both goals so that they have all had industrial contacts, and all have also had publications in international journals or conferences leading to an international network of contacts. Further, we collaborate with research centers like MOVIII adding to the personal network.

See our research page for some examples of Graduate projects.

Graduate Courses

The aim of the graduate courses is to give an education of international top class. Each graduate student has an individual study plan, but a typical example could be (approximate numbers) 50% systems theory, control, diagnosis, or applied mathematics, 25% computer science, and 25% applied physics or mechanics as a basis for modeling and simulation in the research.

See our course page.
